MR. Brink Disturbed Mixtape Favs

Trk#1: Only the extremely confident (or arrogant) dare to even talk over a 50 CENT beat. Few succeed at rappin to it like Brink does here. Try it sometime. It’ll give you a better appreciation for what 50 does becuz you’ll realize how stupid you sound.
Trk#2 His quik ode to the most faithful of haircuts
Trk#6 Another beat i’m amazed he pulled off becuz many a mixtaper has tried and failed miserably. i also love that there is almost no Young Chris-wheezy-voice imitating going on. Even though there are countless ‘tapes’ coming out everyday, it’s rare to hear someone approach these instrumentals with their own style. They are usually rapped over with a generic style or with that which is used by the original artist. 9/ten times it’s impossible to use someone’s style better than they have on their own beat, yet people still try. It makes more sense to instead, rap how you normally rap, only better, due to the inspiration you’ve received from the previous rapper killing it and/or the overwhelming energy of the beat you feel inclined to ‘add-on’ to.
Trk#7 “Layaway Shopper” the ironic wit of this one woulda hit more if i had a blog back when he actually put this out.
Trk#14 “Show Me Where He Live” – This is the type of music you put on repeat and do push-ups to ... while on house arrest.
Brink has always been a snake-ass ngh. Now he’s got the mouthpiece to match it, during this era his extra-curricular activities began to catch up with him. This is the Brink i was hearing about while i was gone. Darker, desperate, & even more moody than before.
            Trk#15 repeated for psychoanalysis.
